Faculty Research Interests

Students who wish to conduct research on particular topics can search for a faculty sponsor or an expert in the field of interest by consulting these data bases.

Here are some tips in locating a faculty with research interests that you may be interested in. Visit the UC Davis Web site and explore the various venues offered under the Colleges, Professional Schools and Intercollege Programs.


For the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, click on Departments and Programs, then Departments, then a specific department, then faculty to browse the field of interests. Faculty are often listed under People.


For the College of Engineering, click on Current Students in top menu, then click on a specific department to review lists of faculty and descriptions of research within each specialty. Faculty are often listed under People.

Additionally, students interested in seeking research opportunities in the College of Engineering are encouraged to contact the Gearing Up for Undergraduate Research in Engineering Program for advising and referrals.


For the College of Letters and Science, click on Departments and Programs, go to Department Listings, which sorted by department or by division and click on the department you want. Click on Faculty, often listed under People.


For the College of Biological Sciences at UC Davis, click on Research & Internships on the top bar, and click on Faculty Researchers on the left bar.

Many of these scientists value undergraduates as junior partners in research and often utilize their NIH and NSF grants to fund students who provide a valuable contribution to the project.
